Movie Watch

Went to the movies yesterday with the kids and Fun Daddy. We saw The Devil Wears Prada. I liked the movie very much. Which surprised me, since I tried to read the book a couple of summers ago and found it absolutely UNREADABLE.

Now, please don't bother to tell me that I am cracked because you read it and found it was the most transforming work of literature since War and Peace. I found it whiny and trite. Granted, I am more likely to be wearing a color from 3 seasons ago in a poly mix of some sort. I admit it.

But I like Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep so there!

The theater was pretty crowded for 11am. And the average attendee was about 68 and had a walker but for some reason they wore their best looking clothes and accessories.. it was a bit surreal.

I have to admit that I am looking forward to seeing the following movies in the near or so future (in no particular order):

My Super Ex-Girlfriend (Rainn Wilson looking somewhat less maniacal than usual, which is good I think?);
John Tucker Must Die (hmmm interesting... directed by Betty Thomas of Hill Street Blues fame); and
Running With Scissors (I need to remember to get the book first, hopefully I will have time to read it before the movie comes out).

That is all...
