HA!

Vindication!

I hate being treated like an ass... and every time the Angel plays basketball against a certain team, I always come away with a bad taste in my mouth...

Why? The coaches.

Last year the coaches actively taunted the girls on our team. And by this I mean trash talked 10 year olds. Our girls were completely bewildered by this kind of behavior.

And then there were the elbows... Man, the girls on that team know how to throw them. And sneakily too.

This year when we got to this team, I was dismayed to see the same coaches in charge of these same girls. Blah.

And this year it is more of the same. I saw one of their girls use her shoulder to bash one of our girls in the face... hit her right in the nose. Naturally, the ref missed it. But the shout of, "HEY!" went through the crowd on our side of the gym... Ironically, this pissed off the ref, who reminded us all that this is just a Catholic school girl basketball league... GRRRR... so we would have liked to believed...

My girls are always frustrated at the end of this game. Imelda because she is hearing the things being said on the other bench and among the girls on the court. The Angel, because despite the obstacles, came within two points of winning this game. She felt awful because she kept missing free throws.. Which is an indication that they were fouling her left and right... I saw their coaches pointing at my Angel... the fuckers targeted her.

Now tonight, Fun Daddy has returned from the Holy Name Society meeting (no.. it is not as holy as it sounds... these are the sports boosters... because of Holy Name, our girls do not have to pay to participate in sports.. pretty cool, eh?). After talking to some of the other dads, Fun Daddy discovered something interesting. Turns out these louses coaching that team have been previously banned from the league for unsportsman-like conduct. HA!

Oh, and I won't mention the name of the school... but I will point out that they refer to themselves as the White Crusaders... It sounds like they are all fairly clueless at the school... But we are done with them for the year... thank God.
