Go Cheer Squad!

This weekend was the first of the two cheerleading squad car washes. Coach Carol set a goal of 50 cars per day, thinking that it would be hard to get that many....

Instead the girls washed 67! It was a long day for the cheersquad and their families who helped out. Even Lillith helped, although, in typical Lillith fashion had to wear her most constipated face to show that she was only there under duress. A project for another day, I suppose.

In the meantime, Fun Daddy and I were exhausted and sunburned and Imelda has a special sunburn in the shape of a bow.... Oh, and I liked that Father's car got the bikini carwash treatment... even though the carwashers were only 10.

Step One

To the question of why I cannot send MMS messages from my phone to blogger.

Step one.

Can you send MMS to anyone else?

Answer: yes.

On to question two.

What is Blogger's problem?

Answer: god help me. Where do I begin on this one.

In the meantime, here is the picture I tried to send Sunday while trapped at the NCA Cheer clinic

What I did this weekend...

Or more likely, sat on my ass for hours and watched... this cheer thing is pretty much a hurry up and wait game.

Perfect

I love this photograph...

I was taking photos for the cheerleading squad. They had an "official" photo taken for the yearbook.... and right after it was taken? All the 8th graders quit the squad. Their applications for high school were in, their participation on the squad was documented.... so screw the rest of the girls... screw their chances at a competition...

For the boys basketball season, except for one game, there were no cheerleaders when the 8th graders played... as a protest, in essence. The exception was for the last game of the season. We (the mothers of the most senior members of the squad....Oh, yeah.. that was me and one other mother!) decided that it was unfair to the 8th grade boys. So, we decided that if the mothers of the younger girls were not on board, our girls... all three of them, would cheer for the 8th graders... and oh. all the girls cheered for the 8th grade game. If they have to be cheerleaders... we expect them to build character, after all.

What was our thought about our good girls having to be shown in the yearbook with the quitter girls? We didn't want it. (In fact, I have issues with PARENTS that let their kids quit an activity mid season... What the HELL are you teaching your daughter?!)

Anyway...

Wouldn't this picture be the best revenge... not a single 8th grader in the mix.

Yeah, I thought so too.

Yeah, yeah... it has taken me two days to get this ready.

I have been experimenting with technology... this has taken a bit of effort as my camcorder saves to a dvd which is in the ever helpful .vob format. Yes, there has been swearing and complaining Chez Maman as I have tried to find ways to convert the file to something recognized by the internets....

After two days work and testing many softwares.. I found the GENIUSES at DVDZip who have created a useful program to help me save as an MPEG. (or a bunch of other formats too...) YEAH!!!! I am SO buying your program!

Now, I present MonAnge and Imelda in their internet cheerleading debut.

That Sophie chick has her own fan club apparently.
